Team Three: McJeevis
Meet our engineers:
- Doris Lin
- Major: EECS
- Home town: Columbia, MO
- Info: Doris is working on the hardware, software, and mechanical construction of the robot.
- Hao (Steve) Zhou
- Major: EECS
- Home town: Commack, NY
- Info: Steve is working on the hardware, software, and mechanical construction of the robot.
- Jeffrey Moore
- Brain & Cognitive Sciences, EECS
- Home town: San Marino, CA
- Info: Jeff is working on the hardware, software, and mechanical construction of the robot.
Meet our robot:
- The Hamburglar
- Major: Pushing red balls through yellow goals
- Home town: Cambridge, MA
- Info: The hamburglar is a "greedy" or "hungry" robot. It cruises around and looks for balls and goals. If it has a ball, it tries to immediately put it in the goal. It has a very simple but robust 2D vision system for identifying regions of interest, a "vestibular system" (gyroscope) for driving straight and rotating, and it uses several infrared sensors to identify walls. Simple feedback-controlled driving algorithms allow the hamburglar to correct for small directional errors. Pictures and demo videos of the Hamburglar are posted at http://web.mit.edu/j_moore/www/Robot%20MASlab/
