Maslab (Mobile Autonomous Systems Laboratory) is MIT's most intense IAP robotics competition. There are no Legos here; these are real robots.
We give you the hardware (netbook, microcontroller, servos, acrylic, etc), and you and your team design, build, and program an autonomous robot. Computer vision, maze navigation, and ball launching are some of the key tasks your robot will need to accomplish to emerge victorious. See Technical Info for a more specific sense of what the rules may be.
For those of you with less experience, we'll have tutorials and lectures on designing, building, and programming robots, though someone on your team should probably be fairly comfortable with coding already.
For those of you with more experience, this year's competition has plenty of opportunity for both advanced programming and mechanical design, we promise.
By the way, you get to keep all of your hardware.
