You may either register as a team or as singles (teams are given preference). In order to participate, you are required to be present for the first day of class on 1/9/2012 through the end of IAP, 2/3/2012. We expect you will not have any other significant commitments (e.g. 6.270, 6.370).
Registration is open to all MIT students. Teams should have 3 or 4 members of undergraduate or graduate students. Students who have already participated in Maslab in past years may participate again provided that at least half of each team consists of new members. No robots or equipment from previous Maslab competitions may be used.
Individuals may register for Maslab. We will attempt to place you on a team if possible. Priority is given to fully formed teams.
Cross-discipline teams are best (e.g., consider throwing a mechanical engineer or aero/astro major into the course-six mix!). At least one team member must have experience with programming. Maslab provides a fair amount of hand and power tools, but teams with mechanical skills/dreams are urged to seek membership and training at the MIT Edgerton Student Shop or Hobby Shop.
There is a fee of $200 per team to hold a spot in Maslab, which will be collected after the lottery. The fee is returned after IAP or waived by permission of the Maslab Director. Please contact us if you have questions.
