Week 1 Goals and Review

Review:

We brainstormed several different ideas for the robot, eventually deciding on a claw that will drop cubes into a shaft, and a shaft that will open like a door hinge releasing the cubes. The robot will then drive away, leaving behind a completed stack.

We made very rough prototypes of some of our designs to determine which would and would not work.

We divided up tasks between hardwar3 and softwear: Pravina, Sasha, and Gary will be doing all the softwhere, and Lisa and Erin will be doing the wiring and building. Pravina, Lisa, and Erin will be doing the Cad.

We assembled and completely wired the kitbot.

Week 2 Goals and Review

CAD:

WE CADded the shaft and lasercut a prototype. We realized that the stack would be likely to fall down using our design, so we decided to add a hinging base to our shaft.

WE also CADded the claw and lasercut a prototype. We decided to use rubber bands to pick up the cubes efficiently. We determined the best size for our claw.

WE created the other parts for our robot, such as the base plate, top plate, and supports.

WE then assembled all of these parts in an assembly drawing, making modifications to make sure everything fit.

SOFTAWRE:

WE successfully communicated with the Edison, using motor encoders and sensors. Much of the firmware has been written.

GReat progress has been made in terms of our opencv code, but the constraints on the colors STILL don't fdfdslkfajing WORK.
