Meet Hermes, our beautiful and well-loved robot, who takes after Team 12 in every respect. Just as Team 12 is the most gender-balanced team this year (two girls, two guys), Hermes is both male and female, to keep the team gender ratio intact. And just as Team 12 harbors no mechanical engineers, Hermes also relishes a love for tape, cardboard, and things that fall off when he/she crashes into walls. Hermes is determined to fulfill the task it was programmed to do - eat as many balls as it can get its acrylic on - by grinding against the walls, moving the pyramid in circles, and crashing into things with happy abandon.

Team 12 is most balanced team this year: we have a freshman (Melody), sophomore (Roxana), junior (David), and senior (Holden); two girls (Melody and Roxana), and two boys (David and Holden). However, we have no MechE's, hence we are the Nomkeys (aka No-Mech-E's).

Taking after the characteristics of our team, our robot Hermes is both male and female, to keep the team gender ratio balanced; the proper pronoun is "herm." Hermes is a proud member of LGBT@MIT.

Our robot embodies our team's true spirit. With its propensity to grind against the walls, move the pyramid in circles, and crash into things with happy abandon, we know that we've made the robot just like us.
